Homemade BBQ Sauce
Ingredients:
- 430g Tomato Ketchup
- 100g Apple Cider Vinegar
- 50g Worcestershire Sauce
- 45g Brown Sugar
- 35g Molassas
- 25g Yellow Mustard
- Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
- Pinch of Ground Cumin
- 2 tap Blendship’s All Purpose Seasoning
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 Small Onion
- 2 Garlic Cloves
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, molasses, mustard, cayenne pepper and cumin. Stir well to combine.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce should thicken and develop its flavour.
4. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning with salt or more spices if needed. If you like it sweeter, add a bit more brown sugar or molasses. For more heat, add extra cayenne pepper.
5. For a totally smooth sauce, you can blend it using an immersion blender or a regular blender until it reaches your desired consistency.
6. Allow the sauce to cool before transferring it to a jar or airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
